24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, our teams are working behind the scenes and out on the streets to keep you safe and the gas flowing to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and in the south of England. We look after all the gas pipes underground and up to your gas meter. We also provide the gas emergency service in our network areas for anyone smelling gas.
We’re leading a number of cutting-edge research projects to give the UK a cleaner, greener future. Almost 85% of UK households use gas for heating, so adapting our existing networks to use biomethane and hydrogen will allow us to decarbonise faster and further. From world-first zero-carbon heat systems powered by clean renewable energy to switching whole cities to hydrogen, our programmes will ensure that we deliver reliable, secure, zero-carbon heat, transport fuel and a greener future for all.
